Dalton Young Connects with Government, Industry, and Academia at AFCEA Space Coast's Next Mission Event

Dalton Young attended AFCEA Space Coast's Preparing for the Next Mission event, connecting with government, industry, and academic communities around wargaming, modeling and simulation, and Space Force readiness.

Conversations at the intersection of mission and innovation

Dalton Young, Founder & CEO of Desra Group and Super Connector connecting government, industry, and business, attended AFCEA Space Coast's Preparing for the Next Mission: Wargaming, Modeling & Simulation, and the Space Force's Operational Readiness on October 29, 2026, at The Tides Collocated Club.

The gathering brought together defense, space, technology, government, industry, and academic communities for conversations about the capabilities and people supporting mission readiness.

Wargaming, simulation, and operational readiness

Col. Leah C. Shubin, Commander of U.S. Space Force Space Delta 10, served as the event's opening speaker and panel moderator. The program featured Dr. Keith Brawner, Technical Director of the Delta 10 Wargaming and Doctrine Center; Lt Col Thomas Newman, Chief of Staff, Space Delta 10; and Louis “Cornell” Fuka, Wargaming Director, 10th Delta Operations Squadron.

The discussion explored how wargaming and modeling and simulation connect with training, experimentation, doctrine, operational readiness, and the integration of emerging capabilities. Audience questions and networking created additional opportunities for conversation across organizations and disciplines.

Central Florida's connected innovation community

Central Florida continues to be a hub for innovation across defense, technology, and simulation. The event also highlighted the connection between academia and industry, with University of Central Florida participation on the exhibit floor, including its Institute for Simulation and Training's METIL and the UCF AIAA and SEDS Project Neptune student rocket program.

For Dalton, getting out and meeting the people behind these organizations is an important part of the relationship business. Conversations help connect technical capabilities with mission context while building a better understanding of the people moving government and industry forward.

Desra Group values these opportunities to strengthen relationships across the modeling and simulation, space, defense, and broader technology communities, and to keep those conversations going beyond the event itself.

Acknowledgments

Desra Group thanks AFCEA Space Coast, the Space Delta 10 speakers, participating exhibitors, and everyone involved in bringing this conversation together.
