In connection with The Dalton Society, we may collect information submitted by a parent, legal guardian, participant, partner, sponsor, or authorized representative. This may include parent/guardian and partner contact information; participant name, age range or grade level, city/state, stated goals and interests; application and onboarding information; operational communications; event or attendance information; and information voluntarily provided in connection with program participation. We do not charge participants tuition or membership fees; where a partner or sponsor makes a payment, payment-card information is processed by our payment processor and is not stored by us except as provided by the processor’s records and applicable law.
We use this information to evaluate applications and administer admission, communicate with parents/guardians and partners, deliver the program, support safety and program operations, protect rights and property, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Society. We do not sell participant, parent/guardian, or partner personal information.
9. Parent-Authorized Participation and Children Under 13
Our general business services are directed to organizations and professionals. The Dalton Society is designed for high-school, college, and early-career young adults, and parents or legal guardians must submit application information for participants under 18.
Participants under 13 may not independently submit personal information through the website or apply on their own behalf. If we operate an online feature that directly collects personal information from a child under 13, we will provide the required notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before that collection, except where a lawful exception applies, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Parents or legal guardians may contact us to review, correct, request deletion of, or stop further collection or use of their child’s information, subject to applicable law and record-retention obligations.
10. Sponsors and Participant Information
Partners and sponsors receive only the recognition described in their partnership terms. They do not receive participant, applicant, parent/guardian, or family personal information, application records, contact lists, attendance records, recordings, or access to private Society communications. We do not permit sponsors to use sponsorship as a basis for recruitment, direct marketing, profiling, or contact with participants or families.
11. Service Providers and Payments
We may share information with service providers that process payments, host our website, or provide communications, scheduling, storage, security, analytics, or other services for us. We require service providers to use information only as needed to provide services to us and as permitted by applicable law and their contractual obligations.
12. Recordings, Photos, and Public Communications

A parent/guardian may withdraw consent for future public use by contacting us, but withdrawal does not require us to recall materials already lawfully published or distributed.
13. Marketing Communications
Operational messages about applications, safety, scheduling, and participation are part of the service. Promotional email and text-message updates require a separate, non-prechecked opt-in. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time or reply STOP to text messages; message and data rates may apply.
14. Retention, Security, and Breach Response
We retain Society information only as long as reasonably necessary for applications, program administration, communication, legal compliance, safety, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we maintain, and we limit the collection of sensitive data such as full dates of birth, Social Security numbers, health or mental-health records, government identification numbers, and precise geolocation through general application forms. If a security breach affecting personal information occurs, we will investigate, take reasonable remedial measures, and provide notice to affected individuals and regulators where required, including under Florida Statutes § 501.171.
