Governance, risk, and compliance work for the Defense Industrial Base lives in a handful of named roles. These descriptions explain the requirements we help you clarify, not roles staffed by a Desra employee bench. Credentials, clearance status, and availability must be verified for each prospective hire or independent partner.
Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Industrial security program ownership under 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) - facility clearance sponsorship and maintenance, DD254 interpretation, DISS administration, personnel clearance processing, visit requests, self-inspections, insider threat program support, and DCSA engagement.
Information System Security Manager (ISSM)
A role responsible for a system's security posture, authorization strategy, control oversight, risk reporting, and inspection readiness. We help clarify the requirement and identify potential specialist partners or candidates.
Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
Day-to-day execution on classified and controlled systems - body of evidence and SSP upkeep, STIG and SCAP compliance, audit review, POA&M closure, continuous monitoring, and change support in eMASS, Xacta, and DAAG environments.
