Getting Started
What Is SBA Small Business Search, Formerly DSBS?
Use SBA's current Small Business Search for buyer visibility and supplier research while distinguishing profiles from certification.
A business-discovery tool
SBA Small Business Search, or SBS, is the current supplier-discovery application associated with the former Dynamic Small Business Search name. Buyers and potential partners can use it to find firms and review profile information.
It is different from SAM Contract Opportunities, which publishes notices, and from the certification application process. A directory entry does not itself establish procurement eligibility.
Make the profile useful
- 01Find your business through the official SBS application.
- 02Follow current SBA instructions for profile access and updates.
- 03Describe specific capabilities and relevant classifications accurately.
- 04Keep contact details and status information current.
- 05Make the profile consistent with your capability statement and official records.
Research potential partners
Search for complementary capabilities, location, or relevant classifications. Review evidence of fit and verify status through appropriate sources before relying on it. Matching a code is not enough to establish a useful teammate.
Avoid directory assumptions
SBA profile management is available at no cost through official processes. Be cautious about paid messages implying a mandatory directory fee. Visibility can support discovery, but it does not guarantee calls, introductions, contracts, or approval by a prime.
Official sources
Check current instructions and requirements directly with the relevant agency.
