Finding Opportunities
How to Find IT Staffing Opportunities with Federal Agencies
Research workforce requirements and prime routes while checking role qualifications, labor obligations, and realistic staffing capacity.
Identify the work behind the staffing label
Federal IT requirements may purchase a managed service, defined deliverables, or labor support. These are not interchangeable models. Read the scope to understand supervision, performance accountability, staffing locations, and the requested contract structure.
This guide is for companies delivering workforce solutions. It does not describe Desra Group as a recruiting firm or promise available personnel.
Research suitable routes
- 01Search public notices and awards using actual roles, technologies, and service descriptions.
- 02Identify agencies and primes repeatedly buying relevant support.
- 03Check whether the opportunity is accessible through a required vehicle or supplier arrangement.
- 04Review role qualifications, key-personnel instructions, clearance or access requirements, and start dates.
- 05Evaluate labor clauses, pricing, transition, and recruiting capacity.
Do not promise an unverified bench
A candidate pipeline is different from committed availability. Confirm compensation, employment arrangements, required credentials, and the ability to meet the schedule. Clearance requirements are contract-specific and must be verified through proper channels, not social-media claims.
Qualify before proposing
Estimate recruiting, onboarding, benefits, management, and replacement costs. Understand any applicable wage determinations and subcontract obligations. A prime may require supplier approval and evidence before including your company.
Build relationships around a credible capability and a clear delivery plan. The useful question is whether you can fill the actual requirement sustainably, not how many generic résumés you can send.
Official sources
Check current instructions and requirements directly with the relevant agency.
