Getting Started
How to Find Your Local APEX Accelerator
Use official assistance referrals to identify the center serving your business and prepare a focused contracting question.
Find the serving center through official referrals
APEX assistance is delivered through local centers. Start with the official referral resources linked by SAM.gov or SBA's local-assistance finder. Older references may still call the program PTAC.
A simple appointment workflow
- 01Identify the business location and area served by the center.
- 02Confirm the center's current contact details through its own official information.
- 03Review client eligibility, intake, appointment, and training procedures.
- 04Ask about the particular registration, notice, or market-entry problem you face.
- 05Prepare a capability description and relevant non-sensitive records.
Avoid misleading look-alikes
An advertiser selling SAM services is not necessarily your official local assistance center. Navigate from government referral pages and confirm the organization before sharing documents or paying for a service.
Make the first contact specific
Describe what your company delivers, which buyers you are considering, and the exact issue you need help resolving. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, tax records, or banking details with an introductory email.
Confirm which services are available and whether an event has a fee. Assistance can support preparation, but the center does not award contracts or guarantee that your business qualifies for a particular procurement.
Official sources
Check current instructions and requirements directly with the relevant agency.
