How to Get Your Capability Statement in Front of the Right People

Choose relevant buyers and authorized channels so your capability statement supports a specific conversation.

Relevance matters more than distribution volume

A capability statement works best when the recipient understands why it relates to their mission or delivery needs. Sending the same document widely can obscure your strongest fit.

Choose the channel

  1. 01Research agencies and primes buying related work.
  2. 02Find official small-business, supplier, or event introduction processes.
  3. 03Tailor the document's emphasis to the recipient.
  4. 04Write a short note connecting the capability to a specific need.
  5. 05Ask one reasonable question or propose one useful next step.

Keep claims and attachments clean

Use actual company experience, accurate identifiers, and current granted certifications. Do not include banking, tax, personal-clearance, proprietary, or controlled information in a public introduction.

Avoid bypassing procurement

If a solicitation restricts communications, follow its channel. A marketing document is not a substitute for the required response, and an official contact is not permission to seek inside information.

Track meaningful responses and relevant follow-up rather than email count. Distribution can support discovery, but does not guarantee introductions, consideration, or contracts.

Official sources

Check current instructions and requirements directly with the relevant agency.
