Finding Opportunities
How to Find School District and University Contracts
Research education buyers, their separate procurement portals, and institution-specific vendor and performance rules.
Education institutions are distinct buyers
School districts and universities may purchase technology, cybersecurity, equipment, facilities support, and professional services through their own procedures. A city registration does not automatically register your company with the district or university.
Research the institution
- 01Find its official procurement and vendor page.
- 02Review active bids and the categories used for notification.
- 03Identify whether bid enrollment and payment onboarding are separate.
- 04Check solicitation-specific forms, insurance, access, and delivery conditions.
- 05Track the buyer, portal, deadline, and authorized question channel.
Orange County Public Schools and the University of Florida are examples of institutions with their own vendor resources. Use their instructions only for their purchases, not as a rule for all education buyers.
Read data and access obligations
Work involving students, health information, systems, or campuses can carry specific privacy, background, accessibility, and security conditions. Confirm what the contract requires rather than assuming federal rules apply unchanged.
Do not begin work informally
Verify authorized ordering and purchasing documents before shipping goods or starting services. An interested department contact may not have authority to commit the institution. Education procurement rewards accurate responses and reliable delivery, not simply a vendor account.
Official sources
Check current instructions and requirements directly with the relevant agency.
